MOCK OLYMPIAD SCHEDULE

ROUND 1 MOCK EXAM

STRUCTURE

The exam will be 50 minute long and will be comprised of 50 questions. You will be able to take the exam only once. It is strongly advised not to use external resources for the exam to be an accurate indicator of how you are doing relative to other people.

PRACTICE YOUR BIOLOGY KNOWLEDGE

The Biolympiads Mock Exams are competitions created by experienced biology tutors to help you prepare for the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), International Biology Olympiad (IBO), British Biology Olympiad (BBO) and other biology olympiads around the world.

The mock biology competitions will help you practice your exam-taking skills, test your knowledge and get ready for the actual biology olympiad.

WIN TEXTBOOKS

The Top 3 participants of the USABO Open mock exam will win a Biolympiads book ‘How to prepare for the Biology Olympiad and Science competitions‘. The overall winner will win a textbook of their choice. The books available to choose from are:

• Campbell Biology

• Human Physiology by Sherwood

• Molecular Biology of the Cell, Fifth Edition: The Problems Book

• Biology of Plants by Raven

SMALL PARTICIPANT FEE

Because book prizes be awarded to the top participants, to cover these expenses a participant fee of EUR 8 is applicable to anyone interested in taking part in the mock exam. To register for the competition follow this link.

Rules

The Mock Biology Olympiad will be hosted on https://Schoology.com. Once you register and pay the fee, you will be sent an access code to the test on 30th of January, 2021. In the test system you will see all the questions on one page. You also will have a timer to keep track of your time.

You should not use any notes, books, or online resources. Every question will be worth of 1 point unless otherwise indicated. For answers with two or more correct answers, scoring is all or none. This means that you only get points if you select all of the correct answers and will get zero if you select at least one incorrect answer. After the test is over, you will soon receive your scores.
