This program is tailored to accommodate both UK and Asian timezones, making it accessible for students across the globe. Our training camp is structured to equip you with the knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to excel.
Main Competitions
1. **Biology Challenge**
– For students aged 13 to 15 (Y9/Y10 in England, Y10/Y11 in Northern Ireland, S2/S3 in Scotland, and equivalent worldwide).
– This competition consists of two 25-minute multiple-choice papers taken online under supervised conditions.
2. **Intermediate Biology Olympiad**
– Open to students in their first year of post-16 education.
– The exam consists of a 1-hour multiple-choice paper covering GCSE and A-level biology topics.
3. **British Biology Olympiad (BBO)**
– An advanced competition for A-level students, serving as a gateway to the International Biology Olympiad.
– 60% of participants receive a commendation or above, with flexible timetables and content based on the A-level syllabus.
4. **Singapore Biology Olympiad**
– Open to junior college and high school students in Singapore, typically from JC1 and JC2 (or equivalent levels).
– The competition includes a theory exam covering advanced biology topics, often beyond the standard curriculum, such as molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and ecology.
– Top-performing students have the chance to represent Singapore in the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).
– Participants who excel receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, along with Certificates of Merit.
5. **Hong Kong Biology Olympiad (BBO)**
– Open to secondary school students in Hong Kong, usually from Form 4 to Form 6 (equivalent to high school).
– The competition typically involves a written test consisting of multiple-choice and short-answer questions based on biology topics from the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) curriculum.
– Top performers may have the opportunity to represent Hong Kong in the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).
– It focuses on enhancing problem-solving skills and fostering an understanding of biological concepts beyond the regular curriculum.
About the Training Program
The Biolympiads Training Program is crafted for highly motivated students, led by experienced biology olympiad coaches. Over 21 weeks, students will follow a rigorous curriculum aimed at preparing them for the challenges of the BBO and other competitions. Here are the key details:
