This lesson is about behavioral ecology. Behavioral ecology is the study of the evolutionary basis for animal behavior due to ecological pressures. Behavioral ecology emerged from ethology after Niko Tinbergen outlined four questions to address when studying animal behavior which are the proximate causes, ontogeny, survival value, and phylogeny of behavior.

Most probably during olympiad you will get a situation and you will have to determine what kind of behavior is in the problem. For example,

The answer is B because there was a conditioned reflex involved. A conditioned reflex is a response that becomes associated with a previously unrelated stimulus as a result of pairing the stimulus with another stimulus normally yielding the response.
