Biological Data Analysis & Research Interpretation Camp 2026

martyna p Competitions

Biology Olympiad success—and true scientific mastery—requires more than just memorizing facts.

Students can understand genetics, molecular biology, and physiology extremely well, yet still struggle when faced with an unfamiliar research experiment, a multi-panel figure, a Western blot, a flow cytometry plot, or a complex heat map.

To bridge this gap, we are excited to introduce the Biological Data Analysis & Research Interpretation Camp, led by a former ThermoFisher Scientific Researcher.

Why This Camp Is Different

Traditional biology prep focuses on acquiring knowledge. But at advanced competition levels and in real-world research, knowing facts isn’t enough. Students must be able to evaluate an unfamiliar experiment and deduce what is actually happening.

Instead of asking, “Do I remember this fact?”, students learn to ask, “What does the evidence tell me?”

Skills Students Will Master

By the end of this 8-week program, students will confidently:

  1. Interpret molecular biology, genomics, and proteomics data figures.
  2. Evaluate positive/negative controls, replicates, and sources of experimental bias.
  3. Separate experimental evidence from author interpretation.
  4. Reason through unfamiliar research problems under competition pressure.
